PFHW Monthly Help Desk

PFHW holds a regular monthly Help Desk at the local library to provide free traps and expert advice on pest control and weed management for the community.
Key Services
- Free Trap Distribution & Safety Demonstration
- Operation Demo: Demonstrate how to safely set and unset black plastic T-rex traps.
- Safety Tunnel: Show proper use of wooden tunnels to protect non-target species.
- Placement Advice: Guide residents on optimal trap placement near corridors, walls, or food sources.
- Sign-up & Catch Reporting: Assist residents with paper sign-ups (Name, Address, Email). Reporting catches to alex@pfhw.org.nz is a requirement for receiving free traps.
- Weed Control Advice
- Identification & Guidance: Answer weed queries or refer to the Plant Me Instead book and Weedbusters website.
- Site Visit Scope: Site visits are strictly limited to moth plant, woolly nightshade, and wild ginger.
